S.E. Nebraska Unemployment Rates for July

(KLZA)-- Unemployment rates were down in all but one county in extreme Southeast Nebraska. The Richardson County unemployment rate for July was up a tenth of a percent to 3.5 percent for the month.

Pawnee County has the lowest unemployment rate in the area at 2.7 percent, Johnson County 2.8 percent, Otoe County is 3.2 percent, Gage County is 3.5 percent and Nemaha County had the highest jobless rate in the area in July at 4.1 percent.

The Nebraska unemployment rate for July was up a tenth of a point to 2.7 percent. Nebraska continues to have the lowest unemployment rate in the nation. North Dakota is second at 3 percent and Utah and Vermont are next at 3.6 percent unemployment. 

Nationally in July, the unemployment rate was 5.3 percent.
