(KAIR)--A Joplin, Missouri man, convicted of stealing a vehicle that was later recovered in Atchison, will spend over a year in prison for the crime.
43-year-old Jason Alexander appeared in Atchison County District Court Monday afternoon, where he was sentenced to sixteen months in prison on a charge of felony theft. He was also ordered to pay $750 in restitution to the victim.
Atchison police found Alexander, who was wanted on a Missouri detain order for a parole violation, at a residence in the 1900 block of Harper Drive last month. The vehicle he had allegedly stolen out of Carthage, Missouri, was also found at the scene.
