(KAIR)--Two are in custody after a drug bust by the Atchison County Sheriff's Department Monday evening.
Sheriff Jack Laurie says his department “conducted an investigation into one of the suspects, and arranged a controlled purchase of marijuana. The location was determined by the suspect, and we met him out there, and made a purchase in the parking lot of Wal-Mart.”
20-year-old Samantha Bruckerhoff-Crowell of Atchison, and 28-year-old Dale Rogers II, also of Atchison, were arrested at the scene.
Bruckerhoff-Crowell and Rogers were booked into the Atchison County Jail on charges including distribution of marijuana withing 1,000 feet of a school, and aggravated endangering a child. Bruckerhoff-Crowell is also facing charges of interference with a law enforcement officer and driving while suspended, while Rogers is facing a charge of using a communication facility in the commission of a felony drug violation.
Laurie says there was a child present in the vehicle when the arrest took place, which resulted in the aggravated endangering a child charge.
