KNZA Broadcast Improvements Continue
08/21/2015

(KNZA)--An extensive effort to restore KNZA FM 103.9 to full power is continuing.

Since late July, the Hiawatha based radio station has been operating on reduced power following storm damage incurred by the station's tower near Whiting.

The work to eradicate the low signal experienced by listeners has been ongoing, with the effort involved to alleviate the issue involving specialized construction of a new broadcast tower.

That lengthy effort has been progressing, and beginning Friday, installation will begin, with a multi-person crew required to install the massive equipment.

That effort will mean periodic outages on KNZA, with exact off-the-air times to be determined as the work progresses.

Station Chief Engineer Mike Slocum tells MSC News that if all goes as planned, KNZA will be restored to full power by Monday.
