(KAIR)--An Everest teen was taken into custody Wednesday on charges stemming from an injury wreck that took place in June.
Atchison County Undersheriff Joe Butner says 19-year-old Brandon Olberding was arrested on a District Court warrant charging him with aggravated battery, driving under the influence, possession of liquor by a minor, and traffic charges.
The warrant was issued in connection with a June 28th wreck on Highway 9 near Monrovia. Olberding and 19-year -old Effingham resident Zakkery Hollands were driving dirt bikes without headlights and collided head on. Hollands and a passenger on Olberding's bike, 19-year-old Megan Galley of Atchison were injured in the wreck and were transported to area hospitals for treatment.
Hollands is facing similar charges after a warrant was also issued for his arrest. He was taken into custody Monday afternoon after appearing in Atchison County District Court on an unrelated case.
