(KNZA)--The proposed 2016 budget for the city of Sabetha calls for the mill levy to remain at the same rate.
The City Commission approved the proposed budget for publication during a special meeting last week.
It contains an estimated tax rate of 40.567 mills, which is to generate around $720,000 in tax revenue.
Even though the mill levy will remain the same, the city will collect more than $30,000 in additional tax revenue due to a more than $800,000 increase in the city’s assessed valuation.
The Sabetha City Commission will consider adoption of the budget following a public hearing at their August 10th meeting.
