(KAIR)--The Kansas Attorney General's office received over 9,800 applications for concealed carry licenses during the recently ended 2015 fiscal year.
In a release issued last week, Attorney General Derek Schmidt said that he expects the licensing program to remain popular since “Kansas licenses are recognized by 36 other states, most of which still require a permit in order to carry concealed.”
Schmidt also encourages all Kansas residents who carry, or intend to carry firearms to take part in training opportunities, and to always comply with all posted signage.
Currently, more than 90,000 Kansans have active concealed carry permits.
