(KAIR)--An Atchison man was taken into custody early Sunday morning after he allegedly assaulted police and EMS personnel.
Police Chief Mike Wilson says EMS crews were first called to the south alley in the 400 block of Commercial Street late Saturday night. Once there, they found that 66-year-old Joseph Blasi had fallen and injured himself. Blasi was allegedly very combative, there was a confrontation with officers and EMS crew. He was subsequently transported to the Atchison Hospital for treatment.
Wilson says that once at the hospital, Blasi continued to confront both EMS personnel and police. He was examined and arrested after his release early Sunday morning.
Blasi was booked into the Atchison County Jail on charges of battery on a law enforcement officer, aggravated battery, criminal threat, and disorderly conduct.
