(KAIR)--An Atchison man was arrested Tuesday morning on drug related charges, hours after allegedly being involved in a hit and run wreck that damaged two vehicles.
Police Chief Mike Wilson says the driver kept going after allegedly striking the vehicles in the 100 block of South Seventh Street. “The vehicle driven by 35-year-old Kevin Flynn then crossed the intersection of Seventh and Main where it struck a retaining wall on the south side of the street. He was subsequently charged with driving under the influence of drugs as well as reckless driving. He was given a notice to appear and subsequently transported to the hospital for examination.”
Wilson says Flynn was released soon after, but police came in contact with him again just a few hours later. “About 10:30am, officers responded to the area of Sixth and S to investigate a person laying in the street. There they found the same 35-year-old Kevin Flynn in the street. He was taken into custody.”
Flynn was booked into the Atchison County Jail on charges including possession of a hallucinogenic drug and possession of drug paraphernalia.
