Highway 73 Information Meeting in Falls City
07/13/2015

(KLZA)-- The public is invited to attend a Nebraska Department of Roads Open House from 4-6 p-m Tuesday at the Falls City Senior Center to comment and ask questions about the nearly 3-mile stretch of work planned in 2016 on Highway 73 through Falls City.

The proposed project will run from 7th Street north to about a mile outside of the northern corporate limits of Falls City at a cost estimated at $1.6-million. One of the key elements for the public is a plan to make the current 4-lane portion of Highway 73 from 7th to 19th Streets in Falls City a 3-lane road with one southbound lane, one northbound lane and a middle, left-hand turn lane.

Questions have been raised about this due to the amount of ag machinery and semi-trucks that pass through Falls City on a regular basis.

Plans are to mill and resurface the existing roadway and shoulders, repair concrete and include curb ramps, grading and remove guardrails.

Department of Roads personnel will be available to answer questions, receive comments and discuss any aspect of the proposed project.

The project is known as “In Falls City and North.”

Again that meeting will be from 4-6 p-m at the Falls City Senior Center.
