(KLZA)-- A crowd estimated between 4 and 500 people attended the 50th anniversary celebration of Monsignor Robert Roh’s Ordination Sunday afternoon at Prichard Auditorium.
Nearly all of the Priests that have served at Falls City Sacred Heart under Msgr. Roh in the past 27 years as principals and counselors were in attendance. It was noted that at one point, all of the Catholic Schools in the Lincoln Diocese had administrators that had served at Sacred Heart under the leadership of Roh.
Following the dinner and program Msgr. Roh said he was humbled by the show of support, noting that he appreciated the day and kind word. He said the people of his parish show him appreciation in many ways on adaily basis.
Roh speaks often about how initially he was not happy about being assigned to what would become his adopted hometown, making the Bishop promise to move him out of Falls City after no more than three years. He is not starting his 28th year in Falls City and has no plans to leave.
It was also alumni weekend for the Sacred Heart School. An open house was held at the new activities center on the Sacred Heart campus and for the first time Saturday, the Monsignor found out it would be named the Roh Activities Center, which he said moved him deeply and led to a good cry at home.
Roh will remain active at the Sacred Heart School in Falls City, and will assist Father Thomas Dunavan who is the new Superintendent at Sacred Heart and is now serving as the Priest at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church.
