(KNZA)--A Horton man charged with child sex-related crimes in two counties has pleaded “not guilty” to charges in Jackson County.
County Attorney Shawna Miller says 20-year-old Dallas Bond entered the plea Friday in Jackson County District Court to six felony counts--including rape.
Miller says the case has been set for a jury trial. She said there are three possible jury trial settings, with the earliest being in mid-October.
Authorities say Bond took a child born in 2003, under false pretenses, to a Holton motel room last August where alleged sexual offenses were committed.
Bond was sentenced earlier this week in Brown County to nearly 7 ½ years in prison on four felony counts--including kidnapping, sexual exploitation of a child, identity fraud and felony theft.
He remains in the Jackson County Jail.
