(KNZA)--A new Brown County appraiser has been hired.
The County Commission voted Monday to hire Jeffrey Ball, of Overbrook, after interviewing him for the position.
Ball is to begin work July 6th at a salary of $48,000. He will serve a two-year appointment.
Since 2011, Ball has served as deputy county appraiser in Osage County. Prior to that he was a commercial property appraiser in Wyandotte County.
The Brown County position became open in late February following the unexpected death of Paula Jones who had held the position for six years.
Anna Porter with the state Property Valuation Division has been assisting the county since that time in filling the void.
