Half Million Dollar Grant for Big Lake MO.
06/18/2015

(KLZA)-- The Village of Big Lake, Missouri has been awarded a $500,000 Missouri Department of Economic Development Block Grant.  According to the Mound City News, the funds are to assist the Village in repairing damage from recent flooding.

The plan is to clear or replace, blocked culverts and dredge up to four channels of the lake to improve drainage with the sediment being deposited in appropriate locations.

The silt removal will create a deep enough channel to allow boat traffic. Currently the channels are filled with sediment from the floods and are too shallow to navigate.
