Topeka Zoo Comes To Atchison
06/17/2015

(KAIR)--Dozens of children gathered in the basement of the Atchison Library Wednesday afternoon to greet several visitors from the Topeka Zoo.

The visit was part of the Zoo2U program, where representatives from the zoo's educational department present several animals and present educational facts about each one.

Wednesday's program featured  animals related to the library's super hero summer reading program theme, and included a baby alligator, a tortoise, an armadillo, and a lizard.

Kids were not only taught about each animal, but were given the opportunity to ask questions and to interact with them as well.
