(KAIR)--Two Brown County area residents are injured in two separate Atchison County wrecks occurring about an hour apart on Tuesday.

The first happened when 31-year-old Horton resident Lance Gaskell was riding his motorcycle northbound on 159 Highway at 326 Road. It was there that a John Deere sprayer, driven by David Dreher, of Horton,  turned in front of Gaskell, causing the motorcycle to collide with the front wheel of the sprayer. That caused the motorcycle to crash, sending Gaskell to the Horton Community Hospital for treatment of  his injuries.

Dreher was not hurt.

The Atchison County Sheriff's Office reports that Gaskell was wearing a helmet at the time of the wreck, which happened around 4:30 Tuesday afternoon.

The second crash happened minutes after 5:30 and sent a Hiawatha man to the hospital.

The Sheriff's Office reports that 31-year-old Jermaine Stillman fell asleep behind the wheel of his car while driving on K-9 Highway, near Jewell Road.

That caused the 2003 Volkswagen Jetta to wreck, rolling over before coming to rest in the ditch of Jewell Road.

Stillman was transported by ambulance to the Atchison Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
