Pottawatomie Co Bridge Project Pushed Back
06/12/2015

(KMZA)---A bridge replacement project on K-63 Highway south of Havensville over Straight Creek has been pushed back.

The project had originally been scheduled to start Monday, but the Kansas Department of Transportation says it will now begin June 29th.

The current 50-foot reinforced fixed arch bridge will be replaced with a 56-foot reinforced concrete rigid frame bridge.

Beginning on Monday, June 29th, crews will set traffic control and later that day both lanes over the bridge will be closed to traffic throughout the project duration.

A marked detour will be provided. Traffic will be directed around the project work zone by signage and barricades.

Work will take place during daylight hours, Monday through Friday, with some occasional Saturday work.

Bridges Inc., of Newton, is the primary contractor on the nearly $930,000 project. The project is scheduled for completion in late November, weather allowing.
