(KLZA)-- A flash flood watch is in effect until 1 p-m Thursday afternoon for Richardson, Nemaha, Pawnee, Johnson, Otoe, Gage, Jefferson and other Southeast Nebraska counties. A portion of Southwest Iowa, is also included in the watch area.
Heavy rainfall overnight in spots and numerous showers and thunderstorms producing additional rainfall this morning could contribute to flash flooding.
Area streams, rivers and creeks may climb to or exceed bankfull. Low water spots prone to flooding will also cause potentially dangerous driving conditions where prolonged rains fall.
