(KNZA)--Monday evening marked the last meeting for three longtime Hiawatha Board of Education members.
Superintendent Penny Hargrove presented plaques to Matt Sprick, Steve Lock and Dave Thompson in recognition of their service on the board. Lock is stepping down after 16 years on the board and Sprick and Thompson after 12 years each.
Hargrove also presented a plaque to Becky Shamburg in recognition of her 10 years of service on the board before resigning to take over as Director of the Brown County Special Education Interlocal 615.
The three new board members elected during the April 7th election will be take office at the July meeting. They include Tom Simmer, Jeff Brockoff and Amy Kopp.
In a related matter, the Board approved the appointment of board member John Wright to a three-year term on the Special Education Interlocal 615 Board to replace Lock.
