Marshall Co Wind Farm Project Moves Forward
05/26/2015

(KMZA)-- A wind farm project in Marshall County is moving forward after being on hold the past year as the company waited to sell the power to be generated at the facility.

DeSoto, Iowa-based RPM Access plans to construct a wind farm southeast of Beattie.

The Marysville Advocate reports project developer George Black updated the Marshall County Commission last week on the project, saying the company plans to have the wind farm fully operational by the summer of 2016.

The wind farm will consist of 36 turbines capable of producing 72 megawatts of power.  So far, the company has sold 65 megawatts to three energy companies.

Black said plans are for the turbine construction preparation work to start in September and for the turbines to be erected starting in January.

RPM Access has developed more than 12-hundred megawatts of wind farm assets at sites in Iowa.  This is the company’s first Kansas wind farm.
