(KMZA)--A strong accomplishment.

That's what  Stan Regehr, Administrator of the Nemaha Valley Community Hospital, in Seneca, calls the designation of the facility as one of the iVantage Top 100 Critical Access Hospitals in the United States. “We're very pleased that we have gotten this distinction,” Regehr tells MSC News. “Out of the 1,300 plus [Critical Access] hospitals in the United States, being one of the top 100 is a really fine accomplishment.”

iVantage, a leading advisory and business analytic health care services company, uses a strength index to conduct what is viewed as the industry’s most comprehensive rating of acute care hospitals, and the only one to include all 1,300 Critical Access Hospitals. “We're proud, we're pleased,” Regehr says. “Our physicians, our staff, many of our employees, totally were involved in being able to achieve this.”

The results of the iVantage rating are developed through the use of 62 different performance metrics, including quality, outcomes, patients perspective, affordability, population risk, and efficiency.

The Top 100 Critical Access Hospitals developed through that ranking are then recognized as providing a safety net to communities across rural America.
