(KAIR)--The Atchison American Legion Post number six, and the Atchison VFW Post 1175 will be honoring their fallen comrades this weekend.
Members from both organizations plan to travel to each cemetery in the Atchison County area Monday morning. A flag presentation with a twenty one gun salute by a firing squad, followed by a bugler playing taps will be done at each site.
The VFW will make presentations at Mt. Calvary at 9:00, Sunset Memory Garden at 9:20, Lancaster at 10:15, Effingham Evergreen at 10:45, and Effingham St. Ann's at 11:00.
The American Legion will make presentations at Oak Hill at 9:00, Mt. Vernon at 9:30, St. Patrick at 10:00, Sumner at 10:30, and Sugar Creek in Missouri at 11:00.
Both organizations will come together to preform the final presentation at Atchison's Veteran's Park at noon.
Those who wish to attend a presentation are encouraged to arrive at their cemeteries of choice at least twenty minutes prior to the start. All times are approximate to allow for travel time.
