(KAIR)--Foul play is not suspected in the death of an Atchison County Jail inmate.
That word comes in a press release issued by Atchison County Sheriff Jack Laurie following the death of 30-year-old Brandon Walker, of Atchison.
Laurie says Walker was found unresponsive in his cell shortly before 8:00 Tuesday morning.
Walker was transported by EMS to the Atchison Hospital where he died Thursday afternoon.
The Kansas Bureau of Investigation investigated Walker's death, as required anytime an inmate dies in custody.
Walker was booked into the Atchison County Jail on May 1st after serving a two year sentence with the Missouri Department of Corrections, and was scheduled to be transferred to the Kansas Department of Corrections following an Atchison County sentencing last week.
