(KLZA)-- Hundreds of people including students from Falls City Public, Falls City Sacred Heart and Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer Schools attended an open house at Airlanco Inc. in Falls City Friday.

Airlanco was honored by Falls City Economic Development and Growth Enterprise as part of Industry Recognition Week. Plant Manager Randy Sailors said Airlanco serves industries worldwide with fan and air duct designs to handle applications from wood, grain, seed, biofuels, food, feed, chemicals, mining, milling, baking, pharmaceuticals, cement, plastics, fiberglass, coal and more.

In recent years the Falls City plant went from being a family owned company to part of the AGI group which is headquartered in Canada. With the company now selling to a world market, Sailors says there is a need for skilled workers at the Falls City plant. Welders are in high demand in many facilities, there is also a need for people who are able to program the automated systems utilized by companies such as Airlanco.

EDGE invited the students to take the tour to see what types of jobs are available to come back to and the skills needed to take a job in the Falls City industries.
