(KNZA/KQ2-TV)-- St. Joseph’s oldest restaurant is closing its doors.
KQ2-TV reports the Hoof and Horn Steak House on Illinois Ave. will serve its last meal before Memorial Day weekend.
Owner Roy Swope says he feels times are changing and business isn't growing in the city's southside anymore. In addition, he says a recent health scare also played a factor in his decision to close the restaurant.
The restaurant was built in 1898. The Swope's took over the business in 1987.
The family says they haven't determined an exact date the restaurant will close, but want to give their customers time to say goodbye.
