Clean Up Weekend in Falls City

(KLZA)-- The Biannual Community Cleanup in Falls City is going on this week. Friday from 5 – 7 p-m and Saturday from 8 – 11 a-m Falls City residents may take trash, large items too big for personal trash including metal, furniture, grills etc. to the city parking lot across from Prichard Auditorium for disposal. 

Falls City Sanitation and Koelzer Salvage will be there to take the items.  This year tires will be accepted. There will be a $2.50 fee per tire.  If you have questions you may contact Tim Koelzer at 402-245-4986.

The Salvation Army Collection truck will be set up at the Falls City Library and Arts Center Friday from 5 – 7 p-m and Saturday from 8 a-m until noon to collect useful household items and clothing, boxed or bagged. 

If you have items that are just too heavy for you, help is available. Gary and Larry Hall will help you move heavy items and appliances out of your home for a fee of $10 - $20.   You may contact them at 402-801-2371 or 2241. 

Prescription and illegal drugs and paraphernalia may be diposed of at the Richardson County Courthouse. The drop box is on the first floor of the courthouse.

Also as part of the event a “Curbside Shopping” event is going on.  Useful items may be put out at the curb of your home with a sign indicating they are “free”.  Items not removed should be taken to the collection site Friday or Saturday.  

During this clean-up event toxic materials will not be accepted. That includes cleaning products, paint, lawn and garden chemicals, used oil and such.  Also, the Paper Tiger Shredding company will not be set up this time.
