Pawnee County Commissioners Meet

(KLZA)-- The Pawnee County Commissioners discussed a request from the City of Pawnee City to help fund their recycling program.  Following discussion it was the feeling of the Board that it is an individual community decision concerning recycling, consequently, the funding should be provided by each individual community if they desire to recycle. 

 
Commissioners did approve Village Law Enforcement Agreements with a two-percent cost increase to the communities for the next year.  The Handibus agreement was approved at the same rate of $3,200 for one year with the City of Pawnee City.  
 
The Board voted to add a security system for each office of the Pawnee County Courthouse. The initial cost will be $4,648 with a monthly fee of $35. Security switches form Security Equipment Inc. will be put in place.  The purchase of a walk through metal detector for the Courthouse to be used for court trials was approved. The cost will be $6,562. The machine will be purchase from Garrett Magnascanner. 
 
Road Department Administrative Assistant Heather Duryea met with the Board. Bids for the Pawnee City Southwest Projects will be opened April 28th.
 
The meeting adjourned at 10:20 a-m.
