(KAIR)--Vote totals from last week's general election for the Atchison City Commission are now official.
County Commissioners, meeting as a Canvassing Board Monday, canvassed the ballots cast in the election.
County Clerk Pauline Lee says there were 28 provisional ballots cast. A provisional ballot is used to record a vote when there are questions about a given voter's eligibility.
The Board approved the counting of 15 provisional ballots.
After last Tuesday's election, Charlie Purdue and Jack Bower were elected to four year terms on the Commission, while David Hausmann was elected to a two year term. Once the provisional ballots were counted, Perdue received five additional votes, Hausmann added six, and Bower had seven more votes added to his total.
