Nemaha County Nebraska Commissioners Meet

(KLZA)-- Nemaha County ( Neb) Commissioners receive the annual report for the Wellness Center in Auburn when they met last week.  Now in it’s 17th year of operation, Dana Farris reported no major building repairs are needed. Farris noted that at this time, they are looking at the possibility of purchasing a lift for changing light bulbs and furnace filters. 

Wellness Center Diector Allison Anderson presented that annual census and financial report. Currently there are 172 paid memberships. 

The Board awarded a bid for a pup trailer to RDO Truck Center in the amount of $8,950 for a 1996 Cornhusker Chassis Pup Trailer.  It was the lowest of three bids received.

Bids for the Nemaha Southwest Project were accepted and Commissioners approved the apparent low bids for a bridge work.  A bid from Midwest Underground Bridge in the amount of $297,253 for the bridge was selected with the second choice being Kerns Excavating for the bridge at $352,281.  The bids will be reviewed by Mainelli and Wagner and Associates to see if they meet specs.   No bids were awarded for the road work.

A bid was awarded for a ventilating dehumidification system to Comstock Plumbing and Heating, the low bid of there received. The cost will be $3,646. 

Nemaha County Hospital Director Marty Fatig met with Commissioners.  He said work is being done on the 2015-16 fiscal year budget. Despite outpatient services being down from the previous year, Fattig noted the hospitals financials are strong.  

Sheriff Brent Lottman and Emergency Management Director Renee Critser and County Commissioner Dennis Wittman will serve on a committee to study the options for the needed office space addition to the Nemaha County Sheriff’s Office.
