(KNZA)--A rural Troy man convicted of involuntary manslaughter in the August 2013 shooting death of his roommate has been placed on 36 months supervised probation.
Eric Burge was sentenced last week in Doniphan County District Court
Burge pleaded no contest to the amended charge in January. In exchange for the plea, three other charges were dismissed.
Burge had originally been charged with second-degree murder in the shooting death of 25-year-old Matthew Sollars. Sollars died August 13th, 2013, one day after the shooting at a residence where the two men resided southwest of Troy.
Burge was arrested in October, 2013 following an investigation by the Doniphan County Sheriff’s Department and Kansas Bureau of Investigation.
