(KNZA)--A Horton man facing child sex charges in two counties pleaded not guilty to charges in Jackson County Thursday.
Jackson County Attorney Shawna Miller says 20-year-old Dallas Bond entered the plea to six felony counts, including rape, after waiving his preliminary hearing.
Miller says a pre-trial conference was set for April 24th. ( 9 a.m.)
Authorities say Bond allegedly took a child born in 2003, under false pretenses, to a Holton motel room last August where the sexual offenses were committed.
He also faces five felony counts in Brown County involving the same child and the theft of items from the Brown County Sheriff’s Department where he formerly worked as a dispatcher.
Bond waived his preliminary hearing on the Brown County charges Wednesday and was bound over to District Court for arraignment April 6th.
He remains in the Jackson County Jail, held on $750,000 bond in the Brown County case and $100,000 in the Jackson County case.
