National Work Zone Awareness Week Celebrated In Atchison
03/23/2015

(KAIR)--Atchison's Amelia Earhart Memorial Bridge, along with several other bridges and buildings in the state, will be lit up in orange lights this week in support of work zone safety.

The lights are part of the Kansas Department of Transportation's efforts to participate in National Work Zone Awareness week, running now through Friday. The campaign works to show the dangers faced each day by both highway workers and motorists.

KDOT is also encouraging everyone to participate in the campaign by wearing orange on Thursday, the official Go Orange Day in the state.
