(KNZA)--A Lawrence man, accused of his involvement in what the feds call a “global sales and supply network” for synthetic and designer drugs, has been sentenced to federal prison.
57-year-old Bradley Miller learned his fate Monday, sentenced to spend more than 7-years behind bars for violating the federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act, according to U.S. Attorney Barry Grissom.
Miller pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy, one count of misbranding and one count of mail fraud, admitting he conspired with his brother, co-defendant Clark Sloan, and Sloan's son, co-defendant Jonathan Sloan, to manufacture and sell designer drugs, including a marijuana substitute known as K2.
Authorities say part of the $3.3 million dollar operation was conducted at a business in the Jefferson County community of Oskaloosa, owned and operated by Miller and Jonathan Sloan.
The Sloans were recently sentenced to prison, with the elder to spend just over 7-years, while the younger will spend 8-years in federal custody.
