(KAIR)--The Dalby Bottom Bridge replacement project in Atchison county is scheduled to begin later this month after nearly three years of preparation.
Commission Chair Jeff Schuele says Commissioners were told by Kansas Department of Transportation officials, that work will start on March 30th, and should be completed sometime later this year.
The bridge is located in the southeast corner of the county, at the intersection of River Road and South 144th Road. A slight relocation will move it out of the Union Pacific Railroad right of way.
The total cost of the bridge exceeds $500,000. The county will be paying eighty percent of the total cost of the bridge, including any engineering fees.
