(KNZA)--Special honors for longtime Kanzaland Radio Program Director and Morning Show host LJ Trant, named by the Horton Fish and Game Club as the “2014 Sportsman of the Year.”
Matt Allen, President of the organization, says Trant was chosen due to his on-air promotion of all things outdoors. “Every year we do a Sportsman of the Year award for people that help out in the community, give back to the outdoors,” Allen stated while presenting Trant with the honor. “This year the Horton Fish and Game would like to honor LJ Trant with a plaque for your work on the radio helping promote positive outdoor through youth and other things, helping all the groups...get the word out to help them.”
Trant voiced his appreciation for being chosen for the honor. “I did not expect this,” Trant said when presented with the plaque. “I appreciate this, a beautiful plaque. Thank you. It's just part of the job, I look at it, helping to promote things that help with the outdoor sports, hunting and fishing.”
Trant was surprised with the plaque, which was presented to him live on the air Saturday, while he was broadcasting from the Fish and Game Club's Outdoor Sports Show at the Blue Building in Horton.
