(KNZA)--Two Horton men are facing a number of charges following their early Sunday morning arrests stemming from an alleged altercation that sent one person to the hospital.
Horton Police Chief John Calhoon says arrested were 28-year-old Evan Wewenis and 29-year-old Elwynn Thomas. “It stemmed from an incident early Sunday morning,” Calhoon tells MSC News. “At 130 East 12th in Horton, there was a small gathering of individuals and there was alcohol involved.” Calhoon says the altercation led to one individual being transported to the Horton Community Hospital by private vehicle for treatment of injuries.
Wewenis was taken into custody on charges including aggravated assault, aggravated battery and disorderly conduct, while Thomas was arrested on charges of assault, battery, disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property.
As of last check, Wewenis remained in the Brown County Jail while Thomas was not listed as an inmate.
Calhoon says the investigation is ongoing and additional arrests are possible.
