02/20/2015

(KNZA)--It still may be winter, but the city of Hiawatha is making plans for this year’s 4th of July celebration.
The City Commission this week approved the purchase of fireworks for this year’s celebration at a cost not to exceed $5,000.  They also voted to set July 3rd for the fireworks display.
In other business, the Commission also approved a request from the local Quails Forever chapter to hold a fishing derby at the city lake on June 6th.
