New KS Education Commissioner Coming to Hiawatha
02/17/2015

(KNZA)--Incoming Kansas Education Commissioner Randy Watson is wrapping up his tour of the state, with Hiawatha destined as his final visit on Thursday. “We're doing 18 different city tours across Kansas, and, actually, our last one will be in Hiawatha,” Watson tells MSC News. “We're coming to Hiawatha to ask Kansans, community people, parents, teachers, students, business leaders, what is it that we want out of or educational system? How do we want to design that to ensure that we're producing successful young Kansans?”

Watson, selected for the job of Commissioner in November, will hold the meeting from 9 to 11:00 Thursday morning at the Fisher Center.
