Two Arrested in Pottawatomie Co Burglary
02/14/2015

(KMZA)--A rural St. George couple are in custody after Pottawatomie County authorities recover more than $25,000 worth of stolen property.

Pottawatomie County Sheriff Greg Riat says 54-year-old Jerry Daniels and 63-year-old Paula Daniels were arrested Wednesday on charges of burglary and theft after the sheriff’s office executed a search warrant at their residence at 5375 Hopkins Creek Road.

Riat says the search warrant was served following an investigation into a burglary and theft at CK Processing in rural Manhattan on February 8th. He says a tip from  the public and several miles of tracking led detectives to the residence.

Recovered from the residence were a John Deere riding mower, ATV and tools allegedly taken in the break-in.

Riat says additional items reported stolen also were located, and detectives obtained a second search warrant to recover them--including a trailer, guns, and vehicle parts.

Three stolen vehicles were also removed from the property.

The couple remains in the Pottawatomie County Jail, each held on $75,000 bond.
