(KNZA)--The Brown County Sheriff’s office is investigating the theft of a skid-steer loader from a construction site east of Horton.
Sheriff John Merchant says the 2006 Bobcat S250 Skid-steer was taken from the vicinity of 2252 U.S. 73 Highway sometime between 5 last Wednesday evening and 8 Thursday morning.
The Skid-steer belonging to Jason Kimmi is valued at more than $31,000.
Merchant said the unit had a cab but no door.
Also stolen was an 84-inch toothed bucket missing one tooth and a
set of pallet forks with one bent fork.
Merchant said the location where the equipment was taken is directly visible to anyone traveling on Highway 73 where the thieves are believed to have backed up to the skid-steer using a pickup and trailer.
Anyone with information regarding the theft is urged to contact the Brown County Sheriffs office at 785-742-7125.
