Governor Brownback

(KNZA)--A visit to the local area Friday by Kansas Governor Sam Brownback, who met with local Tribal Councils during the stopover. “I'm here because of Tribal Council negotiations with the state of Kansas. We do regular meetings with the Tribal Councils,” the Republican Governor explained during a late morning presentation to students, and others, at the Everest Middle School. “Really work and study hard,” Brownback told the students. “If you will do it, you get opportunities galore. If you don't do it, you narrow your opportunities way, way down.”

Brownback's stop at the school came in conjunction with his meeting with the Kickapoo Tribal Council.

The day also included meetings with the tribal leadership of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation and the Iowa and Sac and Fox Nation.

A video presentation of Brownback's address will be seen starting next week on RainbowNEK.
