(KAIR)--An Atchison teen, accused of improper sexual relations with a minor, was released from custody Monday after a charge of unlawful voluntary sexual relations was dismissed.
Atchison County Attorney Jerry Kuckelman says the case against 18-year-old David Keister was dismissed because the victim was not available to testify. The expense of bringing the case to trial was also a factor, as both the victim and Keister have both since relocated from the Atchison area.
Keister was arrested earlier this month after a report from the victim's guardians led to an investigation by the Atchison Police Department.
