(KMZA)--A two-vehicle wreck on U.S. 24 Highway in Douglas County Wednesday afternoon left a Waterville man with disabling injuries.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says 49-year-old Joseph Sauer was passing an eastbound semi truck about four miles north of Lawrence when the truck started to make a left turn. Sauer’s car struck the semi's trailer, ending up lodged underneath it.
Sauer was flown by helicopter to the University of Kansas Hospital in Kansas City.
The semi driver, 52-year-old Topeka resident Kevin Hooper, was transported to Lawrence Memorial Hospital with possible injuries.
