(KMZA)--Pottawatomie County authorities say a juvenile was arrested after a bomb threat caused the evacuation of a school and hospital in Onaga.
Sheriff Greg Riat says a boy under the age of 14 was arrested Tuesday afternoon on a charge of aggravated criminal threat. The individual was taken to juvenile intake and then later released to his parents.
Onaga Police Chief Dan Costlow says a written threat was found at the Onaga Grade School, and reported to authorities around 10:40 Tuesday morning. The threat allegedly involved the school as well as several local businesses and the Onaga hospital.
Costlow says both the school and hospital were evacuated as a precaution. A search was launched of both buildings, but no explosives were found.
The Topeka Capital Journal reports students at the school were sent home for the remainder of the day.
Patients and staff at the hospital were allowed back inside after the building was searched.
