Horton Man Facing Child Sex Charges

Dallas Bond

(KNZA)--A 20-year-old Horton man is being held on $750,000 bond following his arrest over the weekend on felony charges related to sex crimes involving a child.

Brown County Attorney Kevin Hill says Dallas Bond has been charged with aggravated kidnapping, electronic solicitation of a child, sexual exploitation of a child, identity fraud and felony theft.

Bond made his first appearance in Court Monday on the charges.  A preliminary hearing was set for February 4th.

Bond was arrested Friday night following an investigation by the Hiawatha Police Department, which included the execution of multiple search warrants.  The Horton Police Department assisted.

According to the criminal complaint, the aggravated kidnapping and electronic solicitation charges stem from alleged incidents involving a child born in 2003. 

Bond, who was a former dispatcher with the Brown County Sheriff’s Department, is also charged with the theft of several items from the agency—including handcuffs, leg irons, a taser, radio’s, sheriff’s department dress shirts and t-shirts. 

Bond is also named as a person of interest in a Jackson County investigation, although specific's have not yet been released.  

He’s being held in the Jackson County Jail.
