(KLZA)-- The Shopko Hometown Store in Tarkio, Missouri will be closing it’s doors.
Michelle Hansen with Shopko Public Relations confirmed Friday afternoon that the store will be closing by April 4, and liquidation of the store will begin soon. She could not confirm when the Shopko Pharmacy in the Tarkio store would close but sources told MSCNEWS.net that pharmacy’s last day of business would be Friday, January 9.
Hansen said the store was closing because it was not performing at an adequate level to remain open. She said 14 of the companies 307 stores would be closing including one other store in Missouri along with stores in Kentucky and Utah.
Hansen pointed out that Shopko would be opening 15-20 new stores this year in new locations around the country. Shopko operates stores in 21 states.
The Tarkio Shopko Hometown store was formerly a PAMIDA store that became a Shopko store in 2012.
