(KNZA)--A hung jury.
That's the outcome of last week's Jackson County Jury trial for a Soldier resident accused of child rape.
48-year-old Anthony Bowers, accused of the crime involving a five-year-old, went to trial on charges of rape, aggravated indecent liberties with a child and aggravated criminal sodomy.
The trial began December 15th, and the jury began deliberating three days later, continuing into Friday.
Jackson County Attorney Shawna Miller says they were unable to reach a unanimous decision regarding the guilt of Bowers, and the case will have to be retried.
A date for that to happen is not yet determined.
