Seneca 7-Year-Old Earns Statewide Honors

(KMZA)--Special recognition for a Seneca 7-year-old, selected as a regional winner in the 2014 annual “Put the Brakes On Fatalities Day” poster contest. 

Casen Dalinghaus was honored during a ceremony Thursday at the Axtell Elementary School. 

During the afternoon assembly, Casen was awarded with a bicycle and bicycle helmet, donated by Safe Kids Kansas.

He was one of 18 Kansas students receiving regional honors, while three were selected for statewide honors. 

A total of 1,344 posters were entered in the contest, sponsored by numerous Kansas transportation organizations, including KDOT. 

Put the Brakes on Fatalities Day is a nationwide effort to increase roadway safety and reduce all traffic fatalities.
