(KLZA)-- There is wide variety of artistic talent in the Falls City area, and the Richardson County Arts and Humanities Council is excited to help showcase it with a local art competition and exhibition. Area artists are encouraged to submit their current, original art works to the show.
The pieces will then be juried, and the selected works will hang in the Stalder Gallery of the Falls City Library and Arts Center from January 8th to February 7th. (The Arts and Humanities Council reserves the right of refusal.)
All media will be accepted for the competition, and works will be juried across the mediums. The entry fee for the contest is $10 per entry, or $25 for three (limit three).
Standard 2D entries must not exceed 48 inches in either direction. Works in 3D must not exceed 50 pounds, and the base must not exceed 12 inches in either direction unless intended for floor presentation.
Artists will have the ability to sell their works, with 10% commission paid to the council. In addition, artists will be asked for a one-time release of their work, so that all pieces can be included in a postcard production, with all proceeds from the postcard sales going to the Arts and Humanities Council.
Artwork will be accepted Saturday, Janurary 3rd from 9 a.m. – noon, and Monday, January 5th from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Falls City Library & Arts Center. Other arrangements to enter work can be made by contacting the gallery curator, Christina Wertenberger at 402-245-6034.
An opening exhibition reception, and juror remarks will be January 8th at 7:00 p.m. at the StalderGallery in the Falls City Library and Arts Center, Falls City, Nebraska.
