(KAIR)--The Atchison City Commission has approved health insurance benefit plans available to city employees for 2015.
City Manager Trey Cocking says there will be two plans for employees to choose from. One is similar to what the city had before which was available at 6.7%, and the other plan with a co pay that is available at a much lower rate. One plan also has a drug co pay after an employee reaches their deductible, and the other one does not.
Cocking adds that the city is keeping most of their health insurance companies from last year. However, life insurance will now be provided through UNUM as opposed to Mutual of Omaha.
Commissioners voted 5-0 to accept the plans.
